Eyes and roots

by Nebula   Jun 25, 2008

Shadows of what used to be
reflect in eyes and hands and mouths.
As subtle as an ocean storm,
the crushing silence grows and stretches.

Accepting walls that shield the heart,
Blocking off eyes and roots.
My universe will never grow,
the throat will dry and crown will die.

Hungry for the power that grows,
I almost feel it, almost see it.
I long to explode and be,
within me as I should be.

I stretching distance seems so far
the task so large as the heart grows quite.
Who can see and know?
Who will reach the eyes and roots?
