What happened to us
We used to be best friends
We always said forever
And promised not to let it end

No matter what, we'd always talk
And we always understood
We weren't always together
But we were when we could

Then when high school came
You slowly drifted away
I tried to talk to you more often
Because we promised our friendship would stay

But then you got more friends
And decided I wasn't one
I would sit at home alone

Then one day I went out
And I got a date
You saw that I was happy
And that happiness you had to take

Then when I was crying
I decided to get up
No use in hiding away
In the past, I was no longer stuck

I started making friends
And started having fun
You started spreading rumors
And trying to make me run

Instead I confronted you
I stood tall and didn't care
I told you exactly how it was
And, at your tears, I began to stare

When I went to school the next day
I heard the hurtful news
You were no longer in this world
I could tell from the camera crews

You were always so perfect
At least that's what I thought
But I never knew
Perfection was all you sought

So as the days went on
I new not what to do
Though I thought I wasn't
I was still in love with you

So every night I pray
That in heaven, you did go
Because no matter what
You were always my angel
