Hardship

So many lives have been taken
It is time for us to believe
To have faith in what we see
Not sitting around doing nothing

Lives lost
Friends and families have to deal
With the pain and the struggle
We sometimes feel

Women and children off to see
Their fathers and husbands
Going off to war
Hoping to see each other again

The ship which sunk
Lost over a thousand
The aftermath was harsh
To see so many forgotten

Suicide
Drowning
Freezing
All had to happen

She was saved by his lips
Held on to him in the end
Promised him to never let go
Till his body did not float

He said help would come
It came too late to save him
But by his love
She was saved and not winded

Taken by the boat
She left him there
No shedding tears
For this is what he wanted

Without his love
She would have died
He saved her life

All of this happened
To save a life
One who loves
Will make them live

As she set to shore
She let go his death
And focused on the beautiful rain

The end of old
She slips the love from her hands
It sinks down with him
Where they will always be

She lies in her warm bed
Breathes her last breath
Next morning she does not see sun
She is alive with him
