The New Me

by Michelle18   Jun 26, 2008

Shattered mirrors,
Broken glass.
Pain and sorrow,
That was my past.

Tears and pity,
Frowns and more frowns.
Sadness and gloom,
No ups just mostly downs.

But that has changed,
My confidence is now high.
Say hello to the new me,
And kiss my low self-esteem goodbye.

I've learned to love myself,
Because nobody is perfect.
So from now on I'll be happy,
And make this life worth it.

I loved the message that you were trying to send out; everyone needs to chnage for the better, so good job.

I looooove what this poem is about. It sends the right message to everyone. No one is perfect so just love yourself despite the flaws. Plus, I think it's the flaws that make us beautiful. x]

In the first stanza the flow was amazing, but I thought the word choice was a little simple, but hey if you like the simple words stick with it. :]

    ----------> Frowns and more frowns.
`` Ahhh, okay. I don't like the "and more forwns". You used the same word in one line, and it just bugs me. >< Maybe keep the second frown so it doesn't mess up the rhyme, but change the first one. Maybe it could be "Scowls and frowns"? It's up to you. :]

Once again, I love this message so much. I remember when I came to the realization that I needed to love myself. It really changed my attitude toward things.

This was wonderful! Great job! x]

    Keep writing!
