A day without you

by Orchid Man   Jun 26, 2008

Today I spent a day without you -
- I travelled to the city alive with blank faces
Not one person had features to match those of yours
It was as though I was alone; living through a nightmare.

How I wished you were with me, giving your hand for comfort
We could have rested for awhile and ordered a nice cup of coffee
Or we could have shopped then gone for a walk in the park
Though a chilly day the flowers would have welcomed us.

The swans, birds and trees would have been happy to say, "Hello"
I would have smiled at the happiness you would have shared with Nature
With my arm around you I would have felt so excited to share your softness -
- letting everyone see how proud I am of my Orchid Lady.

Sweetheart, whenever we are together I feel no loneliness -
- I live through no nightmares; just unforgettable hours of contentment
You and I seem to be in our Never, Never Land and at peace -
- neither wind, rain nor dismal weather would ever spoil this joy.

How I wish I could see my Orchid Lady amongst the silent throngs
This lonely day would suddenly have new meaning -
- my heart would beat faster as I walked to greet you
Just thinking of you Orchid Lady reminds me; I must hurry home.

I really must hurry home
