Limiting Love

by Ms Joanna Dark   Jun 26, 2008

Is it possible to say "i love you" too much
to let someone know you need their touch
how can love be made to have limits
and with two people who used to want in it
in the beginning it was he who said
"id do anything to raise that pretty head"
and now she's the one who would go the lengths
to show that boy all of his strengths
anything to prove that this love is the best
and if he gets sick then she doesnt need rest
it used to be a simple two-way street
but now somehow there's dragging of feet
like love isnt what's holding them together
it must be something else that's bound them forever
what keeps them together in this awful way
and why not leave if you dont want to stay
the reaching and caring out of desperation
to show she doesnt want a seperation
but with blind eyes he turns that head
almost as if to say "forget what i've said"
the past had promises tied up in fine lace
and a beautiful smile they each had up on their face
time can change things, damage and heal
can it replace the love they both used to feel
why now are there limits where they dont belong
how can saying "i love you" ever be wrong?

This is an amazing poem and probabaly the best one i've ever heard in my life. Dead serious. I'm going to comment other poems of yours and I would appreciate it if you'd do the same for me.
