I pity thee tonight

by Blutonium Boy   Jun 27, 2008

Void emotionless faces,
Old dusty dark places,
A bump in the night,
An unavoidable fright,

I pity thee tonight.

I can smell your blood,
I can feel the flood,
I take what is mine,
Leaving only a shrine.

A calling card to the living,
A symbol of those unforgiving,
A race of those forgotten,
Sleeping buried or rotten,

Turn in disgust,
Run if you must,
Leave me no clue,
I will still find you,

For I am the ungrateful,
Poisoned and so hateful,
Stealing life where I go,
Leaving a curse of ages ago.

Now you will turn,
Then you will learn,
In the sun you'll burn,
In the dark you'll return,

Claws and tooth,
You will show them the truth,

Just as I have shown you.

Wow. This is a very good piece of poetry. I'm a sucker for poetry that can paint a picture in my mind, and you did that with this, especially with the first stanza. It was also my favourite of them, because it definitely drew me in.

    Wonderfully penned.
