Hybrid's Cog

by Nix   Jun 27, 2008

Crucified across the skies which shape-shift
she whispered eclipses to cloned reality,
haunting hearts of dreamers, she transformed
my soul, which didn't know that is untold,
in full form of bleeding pages.
Without wanting something in return
she grew me a third hand,
my new fingers
could go deeper than regular ten
and they squashed confessions of what they felt
upon papers which, singularly became suns.
She isn't Goddess or queen
but my unawares source of water in desert,
alcohol without consequences.
In her eyes
stars are dust.
Oh, she isn't stitch of the world,
nor dream or produce of dogma.
She is the fourth dimension.
She is the electricity
which engenders metamorphose
between a boy and the darkness.

Wow, this was brilliant. It held my attention from beginning to end. I wasn't really sure whether to take the 'she' being spoken of as a good guy or a bad guy, which is something I liked, because it issued a sense of wonder.

"...haunting hearts of dreamers..." -- This line gave off the impression of a dark, deadly creature, particularly because of the word 'haunting'.

    However, these lines:

    "She isn't Goddess or queen
but my unawares source of water in desert,
    alcohol without consequences."

...gave me the sense that she was a helpful creature. A source of comfort when needed. However, in the line 'She isn't Goddess or queen', I would put 'a' before 'Goddess'.

    Overall, nicely done. :}
