Simple Fairy Tale

I wrote a simple Fairy tale,
to show just how i felt.
To see if love was worth trying,
with the cards life had me dealt.

I reached for pen and paper,
and conveyed my story true.
I wanted the ending to be a happy one,
an ending of me and you.

It began like most stories do,
with "Once upon a time".
A prince in love with a pauper,
a truely unholy crime.

The prince, my love, was you,
while the pauper of course was me.
Our love created the story,
and it seemed so meant to be.

Then the story turned for the worst,
as it neared the almost end.
The love we had became corrupted,
and my soul, it could not bend.

It was then that i realized,
the story would not change.
Always the same dark ending,
a love that would turn strange.

The tradgic end is reached,
the prince's love is lost.
The pauper's life is over,
he has paid the greatest cost...

I wrote a simple fairy tale,
to see what i should do.
To see if i should really fall,
and confess that i love you.

i know its not the best poem, but i have some major editing to do. hopefully it will get better.
