Tell Me

by Lindsey   Jun 28, 2008

Tell my Friend, Why your heart aches in pain.
Why you search for an end to your young precious days?

Tell me my sister, oh, where is your smile?
Where has it been hidden for such a long while?

Tell me, my buddy, who my secrets are told to,
Why can't you tell me, what is troubling you?

Tell me, oh, stranger, who is drifting away
Please wake up soon, before it's too late.

Tell me sad spirit, why do you hide?
I hope you know I am here, for you to confide.

Tell me, oh, kindred are you coming home soon?
I know that it's hard, but I really miss you.

Tell me, my Friend, when you finally awake.
I'll be standing here waiting, as long as it takes.

So, I read this again. And this poem means a lot to me. Maybe it wasn't meant for me but that doesn't mean I know exactly what it says. Just wanted to say I love you.

This was very original, different from a lot of other poetry I have read. I love the repetition of "tell me oh..." this really brought life to the poem.

You showed such truth in this poem. Which was great. Opening peoples eyes to certain things,

"Tell my Friend, Why your heart aches in pain.
Why you search for an end to your young precious days?"

Here, an eye opener, that we need to help our friends who are in pain. I like that you asked a question here.

"Tell me my sister, oh, where is your smile?
Where has it been hidden for such a long while?"

More questions. I like how your making the reader think. telling them what exactly is going on with this one sister, or person who you are stating.

"Tell me, my Friend, when you finally awake.
I'll be standing here waiting, as long as it takes. "

This was my favorite line, I love how you started with friend and ended with friend. I really have no words for this because this left me speechless but amazing poem. Good job!

Tell my Friend, Why your heart aches in pain.
Why you search for an end to your young precious days?
--i like how you worded this it puts in words what i would try to ask so much to some of my friends when they wanted to do what your talking about

Tell me my sister, oh, where is your smile?
Where has it been hidden for such a long while?
--aw thats such a sad twist it was good to wait a little before revealing it was someone close to you it helped add emotion into it

Tell me, my buddy, who my secrets are told to,
Why can't you tell me, what is troubling you?
--i have struggled with this to i dont undertand why they wouldnt want to tell me or something the flow is good and i like how you keep asking me questions

Tell me, oh, stranger, who is drifting away
Please wake up soon, before it's too late.
--again great wording it turned from sister to stranger it shows the emotions that have faded and how you still care even though that happened

Tell me sad spirit, why do you hide?
I hope you know I am here, for you to confide.
--good wording and i like the imagery with sad spirit hiding and everything it makes your poem your own

Tell me, oh, kindred are you coming home soon?
I know that it's hard, but I really miss you.
--great questions and this also shows how what this person is doing has affected you

Tell me, my Friend, when you finally awake.
I'll be standing here waiting, as long as it takes.
-- this really shows that you care and aren't mad for whats happening but supportive great way to end it

very good poem some places didn't need commas but allwell lol 5/5 !

    This was a great poem.
    but it made me cry...
    Why/?
    I felt the emotion...
and I felt like it was me...the friend..
    whether it is or not..
    Thankyou for this beautiful poem.
