Once Saved

Not so long ago I was saved.
I was in the light; path was paved.
Lately I've been looking back to my past.
I truly thought this happiness would last.

The time comes in life where you look back
and see what is now white was once black.
But now everything is turning to the shade gray.
All I want is for everything to be okay.

People's lives are going down the drain.
I'm stuck in the middle of their pain.
Will someone be happy?! Give me a smile,
to remind me of how life is worthwhile!

Everything is crazy and leaves me to think
"What will go sour next time I decide to blink?"
Is anything ever going to leave me alone?
Or will that only happen when I reach the unknown?
