My Time To Fly

by mary   Jun 29, 2008

It's come, my time to fly,
It's time to say goodbye,
I know you will remember me,
I now have been set free.

Please don't be sad,
Remember the times we had,
The days, the nights,
Let your memories take flight.

Don't feel sorrow when I'm gone,
For we all must carry on,
But in your heart I will stay,
Even though I've gone away.

And when you miss me,
You'll be able to see,
I'll live on in your heart,
We'll never be apart.

Savored is our time together,
Let our memories last forever,
But please don't cry,
It's come, my time to fly.

Hey, I love this poem, it really touched me and there was just so much emotions in it.

"Don't feel sorrow when I'm gone,
For we all must carry on,
But in your heart I will stay,
    Even though I've gone away."

So well put, you write so beautifully.

I hope your friend liked your poem, if you gave it to her yet, it is a very heartfelt poem.
Please keep writing, you have great potential.

I hope your friend is doing okay, its hard to lose a loved one.

    Take care! :)

Thank you very much!, I think I will give it to her after all. It's strange I never really had an interset in poetry until about a month and a half ago. I actually really hated writing poems, then one of my friends started and I decided to give it a try in the time I have been writing them I've written about 26, I olny have a few on here though. Mostly all of them about a person that I have feelings for but he doesn't have them back. Thank you very much again and best of luck to you as well!

Without knowing the persons involved its hard to say. but if it were me i would give it to them right away. it is very very good. i wrote a similar poem for a friend of mine who lost a close relative. i just told her that i felt that this would be what he would tell her if he could. she liked it and i think felt some comfort in it.
    Best of luck!!
