Left behind

by WaitAutumn   Jun 29, 2008

Forgotten cigarette left beside the ashtray
Unwanted. Slowly begins to consume itself
Bottles laying around,
drooling its thirst down the ground

Can't feel the coming wind
Locked outside. The doors
won't let me in
Can't move till they decide

Not the time to get drunk, but
a moment to put at ease
my mind, and forget
At least, it isn't yet

How long have i been here?
-seconds
-minutes
-hours
none of those words make sense anymore
Not since you've walked through those doors

Yes, i should have followed,
but courage didn't back me up
Never thought this could happen
But then again, who would

-never believed in forever-

A wonderful poem, the last stanza was the best, i loved it.
very emotional you came straight out and said how you felt.
