Rain

by StandStill   Jun 29, 2008

Whispers soothing lies of perfection,
echoing society's need for simplicity and grandness combined.
Falling sweetly on a tongue, and rolling bitterly off,
after-tastes of summer's dying in newborn hands.

Innocence hurtling, crashing against glass hearts,
murmuring quiet cries of distaste at this momentary failure.
Instantaneously the melody crashes and ceases,
only to crescendo again, forever onwards plummeting.

And the rain falls on.

Oooh goody another rain poem. ^.^ Haha. I must read it! By the way.. how do you write so many poems in one day? o.o

Okay okay, I've got something from this poem, but I could be comepletely wrong. I think "summer's dying" is a metaphore for like innocence dying. Like.. becoming an adult, or at least leaving your childhood, because when I think og summer I think about my childhood, swimming and playing with my friends.. so when you said summer's dying.. it just made me think of that.

    And the rain falls on.

^^ Oh my gosh. I never thought such a simple line could bring such an impact, but the way you set it up was amazing. It's now officially stuck in my mind. Haha.

    Another wonderful write! x]

    Keep writing!
