She gave him her soul, she gave him her heart,
as long as the stars shined, they never were apart.
They called each other at hours unheard,
sometimes sitting for hours, never saying a word.
They planned their life, down to the "T",
they even had names for the unborn sons to be.
But one day she recieved news, she just didnt believe,
he told her so suddenly that he had to leave.
He signed for the army, without letting her know,
and before she even knew it, he had to go.
But before he left, he gave her a ring,
and told her everyday reassurance it'd bring.
Days turned to weeks, weeks turned to months,
but she remained strong, through all the hurt.
She received letters from him every single day,
telling of how he missed her each second of the day.
One night on the news, there came a bulletine,
and what she heard, brought all pain back again.
A soldier was captured, tortured and slain,
she didnt believe it was him...but he had his name......
