You and Me

A long time ago it seems,
was the start of you and me.
we didnt really know each other,
no idea of what would come to be.

Pretty soon you lit up my world..
took the pain from my life,
wiped away the tears from my eyes...
cleaned up all the mess and strife.

The nights grew shorter,
and the days seemed worth living..
and you always were there
when i started slipping.

Nothing made sense,
until you brought to me.
Nothing was worth while
until your voice started soothing.

You were my very best friend..
sincerly, and true...
i can only hope that I meant as much to you.

Now you're gone for awhile
and I'm trying to move on.
But a day feels like only an hour...
everything is harder
when you're gone.

So one day when we both leave all this mess behind
let's take a deep breath..
take a step back and rewind.
You were the one that fixed my heart....
picked up the peices when I fell apart.
I'll never know why you even cared
why you bothered to calm me when
I was nervous or scared.

I'll always miss what we had,
and I'll never stop needing you.
