In The Rain

by Toni   Jun 1, 2004

Droplets of despair, silently sting
Washing away the light
Tears flood pained tired eyes
Clouding all my sight

Swirling whirlpools suffocate
Trapping from within
As I slowly deteriorate
Into my pool of sin

Yet in the rain I feel alive
In my darkest hour
Through soft torrents I survive
Carried by the power

As I lay here with my tears
Rain pours from above
Soothing all my burnt charred fears
Filling me with love

This pure rain helps to dilute
Helps to wash away
Hopeful thoughts that I pollute
Each and every dayy

Painful memories begin to freeze
As silky streams engulf me
Sharp rocks of hatred, it does seize
On it's journey to the sea

Rain is my way to purify
Toxicated thoughts
Upon the rain I must rely
It is my last resort
