Leaving

by Alexis   Jul 1, 2008

Walking out the door,
she looks behind her shoulder.
Getting the hell out is a good idea
before she gets too much older.

Lies, deceit, and even heartbreak fill her mind.
All she needs to do is meet someone else of her kind.

Tears are streaming down her face,
as she starts walking down the street..
keeping a steady yet intense pace.

She takes one look back at the house she'll leave behind
Looks at her bedroom window one more time..

She is relieved that she is almost free...
dreaming of an apartment in a big city,
or a small house by the sea.

But, she is also hesistant to let it all go...
is it possible that she should go back home
and just go with the flow...

No, she decides. this is what's right.
She'll get kicked out anyway,
with one more fight.

Leaving her home for a life on her own...
she begins to get scared
of a life all alone.

You learn from mistakes,
she says...
as she wipes her eyes,
cleans her face...
and settles out to join the big race.

Its too late now,
whats done is done....
she hopes this decision will be a
successful one.
