Sweet Forever

by Richard Machado   Jul 3, 2008

The summer sun
melts and molds
the candy bars
of sugar colds,
and chocolate streams
turn into dreams
of hopes and gleams.
Hopes of fiery sweet leaves,
to gnaw forever
the June lips
of a lovers grips.
And, of the summers joy,
and the smiles that light its days,
are the few that found their wings,
that flew across the waters blue.
The mountains grew a haven--
a breathing paradise--
of given light and imagination,
of critters crawling,
exploring their infatuation
with the ground,
and looking up.
