I'll Light You To Make Me Warm

by TravisInABottle   Jul 3, 2008

Burn as the stars move across the sky,
heading home,
and send me shivering on this hot summer's night.
Leave me worrying and wondering
if my four walls will ever be cured of its leak,
and stop lives from flowing out of it.

Burn, watching you dance eases my eyes,
and thoughts evanesce,
like water seduced by a flame.
Singing as I pass my hands through,
curious to know what lies between
this transition from blue to yellow.
Curious as to what you contain at your core.

And I'll lay there still numb,
as you burn holes into my skin;
purifying me, cleansing me.
But I'll hold on through the stings,
for you lift me higher
as you dance, as you cajole me
into wanting to kiss your silken flow.
But feet still move back, afraid,
afraid like all else,
for we always did fear the things that shine.

And I'll watch you,
enlightened and enchanted;
left free to dream in your colored voids.
Left free to gain comfort in your glowing warmth.
Left free to melt from being ice
until you die, burning,
into a pool of water.

    Wow. lol that is all I have to say. Once again, your word choice was very unique and enjoyable to read.

    Burn, watching you dance eases my eyes,
    and thoughts evanesce,
    like water seduced by a flame.

    ^^Gosh that is intense. And the best part about it was, that not only could you feel the intensity within this stanza, you could feel it throughout the whole entire poem. Which is a great quality to have in a poem.....consistency. Wow this was so great and like your other poem, It kept me thinking after words. Great write! You are very talented!

    I like it. It's really good. Kinda confusing. But maybe that's because I haven't slept in a few days, but either way, I still think it was really good. :]
    Always,
    Grace.
