Pain

Pain

Hullo, is there anybody, out there?
I seem to feel a presence, but everything is black
Sometimes I think I can hear you
But then, maybe I was wrong
Someone squeezed my hand just now
Or maybe that was yesterday
Man my back is killing me, and my legs much worse today

It's mainline morphine through the vein
And darkness night or day
Two weeks down its pethadine
And the pain just goes away
My broken back is killing me
I can't speak right now
I'm feeling rather comatose

So keep your drugs away from me
I'll get them when I should
But when I'm hurting really bad
Maybe just leave me be for now
The chance that I'm going to snap
Is getting pretty good
And to hurt your feelings is the last thing on my mind

That was seventeen years ago
And who would have thought
It would haunt me to my grave
So many nights I watch my lady sleep
As I feel the blade get twisted in my spine
Sleep just another fantasy
An illusion of my mind

Well... After reading the first line I thought I'm in Pink Floyd's lyrics... lol!
Anyways... It's good poem and interesting style of writing. I enjoyed reading your poem... it was continuously reminding me one of Pink Floyd's song... :)
