Mask of Perfection

by Mark   Jul 3, 2008

Her spirit surrounds us
the glow of her heart
no lack in her smile
no tears to be seen

freedom she brings
pure love she gives
her soft skin, her brown eyes
like an angel walking the earth

this pretty little girl
with her golden hair
staring at people
while building a lair

a place for a creature
a beast from hell
waiting for the perfect time
to brake out of it's shell

two different persons
lies withing her big brown eyes
we can only count the days
before one of them dies...

    by nobody truly knows me

    "freedom she brings
    pure love she gives
her soft skin, her brown eyes
like an angel walking the earth"

    "a place for a creature
    a beast from hell
    waiting for the perfect time
to brake out of it's shell"

i like how you showed the differences in these two stanzas. it shows how completely different the sides of her are. an angel and a creature from hell are definitly opposites.

i really enjoyed this poem. you did an excellent job on it.

First of all this was a good poem. I loved the title it really made me want to read this poem. You imagery and creativeness in this poem shines through. Great write!

    "Her spirit surrounds us
    the glow of her heart
    no lack in her smile
    no tears to be seen"

Many will be able to relate to this, everyone knows someone who hides things. who tries to be so strong but you can clearly see that something is wrong.

    "freedom she brings
    pure love she gives
her soft skin, her brown eyes
like an angel walking the earth"

I've heard this used in different ways so many times, but the way you used it was just great. I loved it.

    "a place for a creature
    a beast from hell
    waiting for the perfect time
to brake out of it's shell"

Amazing flow and a great stanza this has to be my favorite stanza in the whole poem. Such honesty I loved it.

    "two different persons
lies withing her big brown eyes
we can only count the days
before one of them dies... "

Another stanza I can relate to, staring into a lovers eyes you can see everything, truth and perfection. Many will understand this and relate.

Great write, and as I said I loved the title, it really fit the poem. It didn't say it in the poem but reading in between the lines I can see.
