The Joy of Bagel Bites

by HolyDiver   Jul 4, 2008

The crinkling of the wrapper makes me smile,
as I open the box.
Frozen bagels clink,
when they bounce against the recently washed china.
My fingertips press against the cold firm buttons.
In the microwave, the little bites bubble with cheese.
DING! I take the plate out and ogle at the wee luscious bagels.
The waft of the exquisite delicacies fills my nostrils.
I shove the grease-filled breakfast-and-lunch combo into my mouth.
The taste reminds me of a beautiful sunset in the summer.
Now that they are gone,
I weep into the dull bagel-biteless afternoon.
