Let You Down [Fade]

by brie kelly wise   Jul 4, 2008

My colors are dark and about to fade
I'm still wounded from Autumn's break
I can still feel the scar where you left the tape
And the sweetness where you marked your name
Plastic cups form a solid taste
And here in your cellar is where I lay

I won't give up on you, I won't let you down
Oh I wish I could make it simple
Oh I wish I could let it die
Oh I wish I could take it out now
But I don't want to let you down

Remember days, rainy days, on the porch, let it fade
You say, "Morning comes everyday."
Lying pays in funny ways, I am not forgiven
Time to wash your sins away
Sixteen years, please let it fade away

I won't give up on you, I won't let you down
Oh I wish I could take it back
All the things you hurt me for
Oh I wish I could let it out now
But I promised not to let you down
It's been awhile, and things have changed
Well, you don't agree
I hate to see it end like this now, but I must let you down
For all those days, I felt punished by
A color that wouldn't fade
