The Taste of Breathing Salted Smoke and Sorrow

by RussianRendezvous   Jul 4, 2008

Are you here to stay?
Can you last another day?
Set fire to our bridge, my love there's nothing left to say.

You'll reach the surface, then
Be pulled under agian.
Sinking to the bottom where the paper meets the pen.

The art's embellishment,
Is every line's intent.
But formulated failures can't even make a dent.

Don't follow me down.
This ship is a wreck.
Remove the anchor,
Breaking your neck.
But the water's darker on the other end, my end, of which you've never known.
I'm sinking, drowning, dying, alone.

I don't see why you think you can't rhyme...you're able to follow a pattern and have a flow without completely taking away from the meaning of the poem which is something actually pretty hard to do. Because i think with a lot of people they write for nothing but rhyme and then I hardly even see the point in writing. But you're able to keep the meaning.

haha in short, this was amazing :)
