Where I'm From

by Maddy   Jul 4, 2008

I am from coffee beans and tea bags
From Splenda and raspberry scones.
I am from the bustle of the city
To the pastures in the country
The long green grass tickling my bare legs.
I am from the Asian maple tree
And the purple butterfly bush.

I am from wisdom and Grey hair,
From Pinky and Fredrece.
I am from the because I said so friends,
And multi-interest family
From bring in the dog
And always try your best
I am from loose religion,
But strong in faith.

I am from the rolling hills of California,
And the barren land of the east
From the swing on the grand ole Oak
And leaves scattered beneath.

From my grandmas pink, pink skin
As a baby,
And my weird Uncle Harolds hair net.

I am from my memories
Kept tight inside my heart
Never to be forgotten,
And never to be left out.
