But she can't understand...

by StandStill   Jul 5, 2008

She treats life like a photo,
a singular moment that's hanging in the air.
And she can't understand, no,
that it's really going somewhere.

Every puzzles a mistake,
another time for her to fall down and break.
Still she can't understand, no,
that life isn't measured by the breaths that we take.

And I just want to show her,
that she's beautiful in somebody's eyes.
Cuz I just want to show her,
life's bigger than tragedies and lies.

So everyday she stares out the window,
hoping for something better to come.
And every night she prays for something,
just to be loved by someone.

'Cause she can't understand that life happens,
and that there's just songs you have to sing.
And I wish I could show her,
all the joys that life could now bring.

But she can't understand until she lets go.
She holds on so tight with trembling fingers,
screaming for everyone and no one at the same time,
and still her pain lingers, and...

I just want to show her that she's gotta live life.
I just want to show her, there's something more tonight.
Cuz she's just so beautiful, wonderful, crazy amazing,
and she needs to see...after the darkness comes light.

She stands now with her head down,
waiting for this moment to pass.
A tear falls from her eyes, now.
I just pray this won't last...

"But I know something is coming,
and I don't know what it is.
But I know it's amazing,
save me
my time is coming
and i'll find my way out of this longest route
it feels like today i know
it feels like today i'm sure...."

((It feels like today by rascall flats))
