Tonight with you

Tonight as you fell asleep I held you lovingly in my arms
To feel you against me makes my heart smile and my senses come alive
Orchid Lady, you were so tired yet I want to look at you forever
The truth is; I need your love to flow through me like a surging tide of ecstasy.

When most people talk about love they seem to hold back their reasons
Yet when I talk about you I talk about the miracle of the way you make me feel
You make me feel important as though I were a King instead of a mere man
I tell others you put the spring into my steps and how I need you with me always.

Each time you fall asleep I turn away from you for awhile and silently cry to myself
Yes sweetheart, I want to wake you up and tell you once more that, "I love you"
But, we both know that would be foolish of me so I lie here with you in my arms -
- impatiently waiting for the sun to open its eyes to greet you with the warmth of a new day.

Though the room is lit by faint moonbeams I can see your body rising and falling
You look so lovely in your sleep as though you are visiting our Never, Never Land
Soon I shall also fall into a slumber and come to meet the most beautiful woman on this Earth
This beautiful woman is you my Orchid as your beauty lies not only within but radiates from you.
