Suicide

Suicide is the monster
that torments the mind
makes it weary, makes life dreary
this monster seeks refuge in innocent heads
driving these minds, such beautiful beings
to consider such wrongful act

they have been turned away
they face hardship
some days
is that reason enough
to take your life?

They feel lonely
along the way
think no1 cares for them
find it hard to talk to their parents
scared that they won't understand

Mixed feelings, in a state of flux
all alone in bed at night
the thoughts start arising
what if I die?
just pick up a knife
and cut deep through my skin

Or maybe I will throw myself on the street
in front of a fast approaching vehicle
or the rail track
Yes that would be a good way to
end this miserable nightmare

But do these children know
just how much they are loved
by their family and friends
do they know that their leaving
would cause so much grief

Are they being merely selfish?
to commit such an act
not thinking about the distress and heartache
it would cause for their dearest

How can they take their life?
and Go against God's wish
instead of turning to the knife
why not look to the stars and pray to be freed
from this horrible monster

These children's hearts are filled with such throbbing pain
not understanding the true beauty of existence
so they ask them selves
why do I suffer? I can't cope anymore
these tears keep on falling
nobody seems to know

They need a smile to give them reassurance
an ear to listen to their stories
an eye to see their exquisiteness
a hand to let go of the agony
most of all they need tender love
to fill their heart with joy
little words to give them hope
leading to a future which is bright
full of opportunities
a life which is not destroyed
by pointless misery.
