It was the truth

by NotCryingForHelp   Jul 6, 2008

Are you afraid of me,
said death to the elderly.
they replied,yes,of course we are",
death sat down and asked why, if they knew that, someday he must come for them,
whether it be old age or illness,
he never knows,
he's just doing the job he was meant to do,
to take out old life and make room for the new.
The elderly answered, because all people,
at one point of time,
think they can live forever,
and we can think of so many things we never got to do,
things we really wanted to".
"Don't be afraid of me,
for few mortals know what I really can do.
I take away your old life,
but I bring you a new beginning,
for I send you to a place where only the dead
are allowed to go.
What is this place,you ask?
Well, I can't answer that,
because what might be heaven for one man
can be Hell for another.
I never have been there myself,
but I've heard many a story.
Now, you have been brought here to die,
and I've been sent here to fetch you,
so come on,and face your fate".
"I will come, but only if you don't drop me,
my good Friend.
I am ready for death", he said.
And it was the truth.
