Wings of Glittering Gold

by Melissa   Jul 6, 2008

These wings are laced with glittering gold
I'd tell you my secrets if you'd promise to not put me on hold
Just look in my eyes if you want the truth
I am just me, I am just youth.

With me you could see that it's all real
I am sorry if I came across anything else,
I sometimes get caught up in the way that I feel

Sometimes I get overly nice,
I can't be myself because I am scared I might miss roll the dice.
Please take a chance, place a bet on me.
It's hard to trust when still trying to break free.

So much to learn about this place
Dreams I have yet to live, ambitions I have yet to chase.
I am sorry if I can't be all that you need me to be
Life is a journey and this is mine, I am trying to lead.

Life isn't about living to impress
The one's who matter will be at your side no matter what the success.
Please see past my imperfections and look into my soul.
I will be waiting, with these wings of glittering gold
