In the Most Innocent Sense of the Phrase

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Jul 6, 2008

I'll tell you what I'm thinking
I swear on my life it's true
I'm imagining you asleep in my arms
I'm imagining me holding you

My finger traces hearts along your arm
Writes love poems on your skin
I kiss you on the cheek
And in your sleep you grin

I whisper in your ear
That you're safe in my arms
Nothing out here can hurt us
And no nightmare do you harm

You're dreaming of something happy
I run my fingers through your hair
I kiss your cheek, cause I don't sleep
And nothing else matters, cause I don't care

These are my thoughts at 3 in the morning
This poems speaks no lies
Im imagining me holding you
While you're dreaming at my side

Just sleep together, in the most innocent sense of the phrase.
