My Garden

by Robert Meuser   Jul 6, 2008

My Garden

I planted a little garden
for my culinary needs.
I had a lot of money
invested in those seeds.

I carefully tilled the soil
and when I got through
I fertilized it real good
with lots of cow do do.

I planted all the veggies
in straight little rows.
I stamped them down snug
with my bare toes.

Then blistering temperatures
the thermometer did reach.
It fried my tiny plants
like a son on the beach.

My peas won't pea
and my onions won't un.
I don't think gardening
is very much fun.

I watered the damn things
till soaking wet.
Then for all my trouble
what did I get?

WEEDS
