I sit here in the dark alone
thinking of how it would be if you were home.
The last thing you did was kiss me good-night.
The last thing you said was Please do not cry!
You do not want me to worry
You do not want me to be scared
But the truth is, I am both, and it just is not fair.
I try to live my life without the thought of you
entering my mind
But you pop up in my dreams, time after time.
I would not call them dreams, more like nightmares
Just to see you there alone, just to see that you do not care.
I try to move on, to let go and fly
But it is like you have me on a string that will not untie!
Other guys like me and you despise them for that
You tell me not to hang around them
Basically treat them like crap!!
But that is not who I am, I give everybody a chance.
People get to know me, then we become friends.
Why do you want to change that? What are you scared of?
I love to help people, but you have made it impossible for me to love!
I have loved you from the beginning, and it is not going to change
But your love has become an obsession, and it just can not remain!
I am tired of pushing away guys that care
Ones that would do anything just for me to be there!
Please understand that I am sorry
But this is a brand new start for me
The first step to closure, the first step to the real me,
the one I want everybody to see.
So please do not get in my way, I am going free
The string is untied, I am finally getting RELEASED!!
