In Wonderland

by brie kelly wise   Jul 7, 2008

I am torn beneath the street lights on the corner of your house
I am stripped of my left over time, used up all in the summer
I am young and embarrassed, as far as we go this ours
I am yours, I am the one you waited for in the park, remember

You are the one I am caressing, taking care of and believing
You are the dangerous one I sneak out for to kiss you before you leave
You are the intense conversation on the porch after sunset
You are mine and that's all you'll ever want to be

We are angst ridden, creative and a little bit sad
We are the ones you like to carry it on our backs
We aren't grown up, but still kids, innocence is what we lack
We are a little too in over our heads, but we are true and that's a fact

I am torn beneath the street lights on the corner of your house
You are the one I am caressing, taking care of and believing
We are angst ridden, creative and a little bit sad
We want to be something we already have
