Happily Never After

by Hailey   Jul 7, 2008

A young love was my last love
Broken from the foolishness of childhood
And now as I age, I can only wish to go back
For now, I stand alone, unloved

The simplicity of a kiss is what my lips yearn for
My body, to be held close
And feel his warmth against me
His hands around my waist
Controlling me as we move as one

At night as I dream
He comes to me
And holds me close
As he whispers the sweetest words
I love you
But my eyes open
And I fall from my nirvana
Into the cold, unloving world

I guess love can only be found in a fairytale
Once upon a dream
Which makes my life a nightmare
And when I try to wake, I can’t
For I am forever locked in a lonely trance
Waiting for my prince
To save me
With that one special kiss
