HERE IS WHERE

by Alex Joyaux   Jul 7, 2008

Here is where I sit and stare

And daydream of you slightly,

While others may have words to say,

I sit and stare politely

No longer am I a silent muse,

I silently start to ponder,

For you've seen my glances from afar,

My eyes reflecting wonder

And then you stand, begin to walk,

Slowly in my direction,

Caught up in the moment,

You take my hand and give me this instruction:

Go to a tree, he says to me,

With a knife in hand,

Carve our initials in the middle,

Preserve them in this lonely land

Our initials there will always be

Carved in the middle of that tree,

Whispering in my ear slightly,

He asks to come away with me,

For all eternity
