A GARDEN FILLED WITH ROSES

by Alex Joyaux   Jul 7, 2008

A garden filled with roses
Awaits those who despair,
For love is but a weary thought
In minds that are like theirs

The thorns upon the roses
Are all that they can see,
And so they miss the beauty
Of its simplicity

Then along comes misery,
It pricks their weary souls,
The heart becomes a dwelling place
For faded joy of old

But hope returns one fateful day,
How pleasantly it comes,
You wonder if it is not real,
How starry-eyed and strange you feel

A garden filled with roses
Resides within your mind,
Often times you pause to waft
Its aroma so divine
