I can love you better

by Neme juste un jouet   Jul 8, 2008

"I promise I can love you better than them,"
he whispers as close to silence as he dares.
There is something beautiful about a forced smile,
something wondrous about a bleeding landscape
that throws itself against the horizon to stop the sun
from coming too close with its tremendous colors.
Such colors of beauty, are only illusions.
Like his smile, and his eyes filled with dangerous intent.
I swear to you, if anyone could steal your breath away
it would be him,
and he would never give you mercy and allow you to breathe ever again.
He would watch you claw away at yourself in vain attempts to allow the air in...
And smile with his promises,
"I can love you better than them."
Can you? -I smile and lean in close, studying those hazel eyes so filled with torment and twisted curiosity
Perhaps I can catch a glimpse of what drives him
closer and closer to his fleeing horizon,
twisting himself at every angle to escape the trembling earth
as the ground shakes to-wards the infinity of the sky
trembling and releasing a furious cry.
Dare to catch a star?
I think that's what he's trying, reaching for me
before the sun has set and using the earth to get so close
but this star might burn his beautiful face,
and ruin all the joyous, murderous intent.
Burning all his wonderful promises with a unsettled glare
and fleeing with the morning
is all this star can offer, sooner than she even graces his hand,
let alone his lips with a gentle kiss and the return of a promise:
"And I will love you more than any before and any after... I can love you better than them."
