A Silent Death

by Avrii Monrielle   Jul 8, 2008

Footsteps on
This silent pavement
Remind me of
What will
Come.

I feel you creep
To my shoulders,
Pulling me
In with
Your concrete
Stare.

I close my eyes,
Hoping that
Tomorrow never
Reaches me
In time.

I can feel your
Touch
Give me goosebumps,
The chills,
Slowly.

I rise,
Gasping.
Cold.
Frozen.

Tears like pearls,
Blood of air.
An undeserving
Prayer.

Collapsing to
The floor.

Wishing to breathe,
But in the end,
May only falter.
Why?

Are you content,
My love?
The poison dripping
From your
Tongue.

Do you feel
Guilt
As my blood
Turns to ice?
Speak louder.

A silent
Death...
It's cold.
