My Realization

by Lana   Jul 8, 2008

Dear, sweet razorblade
Where have you been?
I haven't seen you in so long,
You used to be my one true friend.
Smooth cuts, intricate designs,
One, two, three, now four new lines.
Chose the spot, pick the place,
Just as long as no one sees it on your face.
Hide the new markings, cover the old scars,
This love was supposed to be nothing but ours.
Press lightly, change direction,
Make it hurt, start on a brand new section.
Lost again, failing it all,
Forgot how to mend, remembered how to fall.
Fading light, embrace the void,
Your tormented body, soul destroyed.
Cry tears, feel pain,
Anger overflowing, watch the precious blood drain.
Fall to the floor, slip away,
I thought I was going to be okay.
Proved differently, I was wrong,
It's obvious I don't belong.
