Safe Asylum

by thesuffocationinsafety   Jul 8, 2008

I'm sitting in a room
white walls are all around
emptiness overcomes me
I stare into the ground.
There is but one window
on the ceiling, high above
letting in the light
and keeping out the love.
An outcast to society
I hide myself in here
staying in the shadows
trying to disappear.
Life goes on without me
Just like I don't exist
never once am I mentioned
never once am I missed.
And now I sit in my asylum
as safe as can be
staring at the floor
wondering,
what happened to me?
