What I am...

by ScarlettaNoir   Jul 8, 2008

Though the light burns my eyes, I will not be blind...
...I am an artist...

Though the screams are piercing, I will not be deaf...
...I am a listener...

Though my lips are sewn shut, I will not be silenced...
...I am a speaker...

Though my limbs are numb, I will not be paralyzed...
...I am a performer...

Though my mind is slipping, I will not be forgotten...
...I am a writer...

Though my heart has stopped, I will not be killed...
...I am a vampire...

This line was the most touching in your poem. I feel this way a LOT. Even though we may forget or may be forgotten we are still remembered through our works.. Very good poem.
