A flower

by timothy cadwell   Jul 9, 2008

You get excited as you see the seed you've just planted grow

And as it comes up from the ground you start to know,

That soon there will be a flower bud and your heart begins to believe

That as long as there's a Sun above, your rose of love will never leave.

Soon the bud begins to open and you anticipate the perfected flower of red

But as the flower comes, you see the imperfections and then the flower is dead,

All the work for a flower only left with a thorn,

Your heart was once complete, but as easy as paper it's now torn.

But within the pieces you're left with but one seed

You choose to find another garden or keep it, locked in your sobbing greed,

Remember love is gone but the memories are never lost

Keep planting your seed no matter how hurtful the cost.
