Dreaming Beside You

by Weeping Wolf   Jul 9, 2008

Your suitcase is packed,
your at the front door
its too early, go back to bed
I don't want you to leave anymore.

I see you off at the station
I dread the closing gates
that separate you from me
and with one final embrace,
I hold you like I can't let you go...

Your leaving, across the sea,
Your leaving on an airplane,
as the breeze bird flies,
as the slow waves sing.
Don't go
Don't go
Don't go again.

For being friends for so long, so long
Its strange how time seems so small
to this vast amount of emptiness without you
all the full days and tired nights spent together
dreaming beside you, the same dream
and how with you here, its easier to sleep
and I no longer feel so hungry or alone
Because you fill me with friendship and love
that I scarcely feel when your gone so far
and your smile was all i was waiting for.

Your leaving, across the sea,
Your leaving on an airplane,
as the breeze bird flies,
as the slow waves sing.
Don't go
Don't go
Don't go again.

I stand at the edge of the beach,
Alone, this time,
thinking of all the words and hugs
we shared, oh how we cared,
still feeling you around me, shy companion
like a shadow still resisting the light,
And thinking of the nights, dreaming beside you,
dreaming of when you would come to stay...
Don't go! Don't go! Don't go this time.
Warmth and peaceful breathing,
When I slept instead of wept,
when your presence made me feel not so alone.
