Parents

To hear all of the fights.
All over stupid stuff like dinner and where to go eat.
You make my heart fall a little bit every time.
I get scared that you're gonna get a divorce.
Sometimes I cry myself to sleep at night because of you two.
But you don't know what you're doing.
You don't know that you're pushing your own daughter away.
That she's dying inside.
You don't see the hurt in her eyes.
You don't know a thing.
You've never read her poems.
Or encouraged her to do what she wants to.
You don't do what she wants you to do.
You don't understand her.
You're not who she wants you to be.
Well, she is me.
