Love Saves One

by ShyandHurt   Jul 9, 2008

A silent tear, a quiet sob followed by a strangled scream,
Another silent tear falls, following the other to slide softly down her cheek to finally stop on my chin,
It lingers for a moment before dropping with a small splat onto the bed.
Ever so slowly, the tears go from a slight sprinkle of the ocean to a waterfall of endless beginnings.
A pair of delicate arms rest idly on a blue comforter, not bothering to put a stop to her water works.
Hey eyes are closed to hide the pain that is displayed so clearly in her dark blue eyes.
Those blue eyes used to be full of fun and play, but are now darkened by her recent events.
Suddenly a door opens, a heavy step comes and a low rumble is heard,
Still this woman doesn't move, fear enveloping her, she is drowned and can't move,
She can't flinch when a large but gentle hand is placed to her cheek and chin, she can barely feel it.
Her body waits for a loud sound of maybe even a pain on her so fragile body, nothing comes.
This strong hand runs down her face, lips press to her lips, that was all it took.
Her body launches into a movement as this kiss drags her from her despair and insecurity.
A once idle hand moves to the nape of his neck and her tears stop, her body moves closer to his, cupping herself into his shape,
She can feel his grip tightening, feeling like she could never be hurt again in the arms of this man,
A soft sentence comes from her momentarily unoccupied lips to show him how he saved her.
"I love you."
