Fire and Ice

by Raychil   Jul 10, 2008

As Robert Frost once said
He wished the world to end in fire
However in my time of life
I hold an opposite desire

I do not wish to feel the flames
Of love that has run dry
I do not wish to remember the passion
That once glowed in my eye

The flames will only bring pain
My skin will only get scorched
The flames will only bring wishes
My mind will only get torched

No I prefer the ice
For hatred consumes my heart
I would rather dwell in my cold
Than have flames rip me apart

The snow will freeze my tears
So they can never fall
The wind will chill to my bones
So my heart may never thaw

Ice will surely make me numb
So I won't feel my shame
And I would rather die in nothing
Than die within that pain.

I feel like I haven't commented your poems in forever! I'm sorry :( I missed your writing. This was amazing. The emotion was impecable (sp?). Anyway, if this is true...You're strong. I know you are. You can overcome anything. And of course, you can always talk to me. Great poem, love! :)
