A Gray Sky

I've got windblown hair
and you've got cloudy eyes
i'm driftin' away
letting the day go by.
All the clouds hold promises
of cool breezes and rain
And I laugh,
as vibrant as the deepening shadows
that blur beneath the grass.
Day moves on, and we sleep
covered in songs
that settle,
blown from car windows,
content to lie
As you smooth my windblown hair
and I fall gently
into your cloudy eyes.
