Kissing Candles ((and running towards the sunset))

by StandStill   Jul 11, 2008

I'm kissing candles
in hopes that you might notice.
Burning my chapped lips
on every whispered kiss.

Can you see how the light is dancing?
Can you hear how the hearts- how the hearts now scream?
Close your eyes, my darling,
and realize not everything is as it seems.

Sand is streaming down this bottle;
every second matches this heart's beat.
Maybe if I run a little faster,
wings will sprout and I won't need these feet.

'Cause every sunsets' light is mocking
every single day we waste.
Close your eyes for me now, darling,
and realize the sweetness of every kiss you taste.

Now, I've given up on kissing candles,
because, babe, you never noticed me.
But I'm flying off this cliff now,
even though wings never kissed my feet.

Maybe the sunset will remember me.
Maybe this sunset will be the last of me.

I liked the title a lot.

Maybe the sunset will remember me.
Maybe this sunset will be the last of me.
^...Don't give up. You can do this.
